UBP FMC Member Dr. Ahmet Savaşan explained that they worked to solve economic problems after the pandemic. Savaşan said, “The resource from Turkey has relieved our country”.

UBP Central Executive Board Member Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, He stated that the economic difficulties experienced after the pandemic will be overcome in the process, and that the resources provided from Turkey will relieve the private sector as well as the public sector.

Answering questions in a television program Ahmet Savaşan, He emphasized that it is a great success that the pandemic measures have yielded the targeted results and that the Covid-19 virus has not been encountered in the TRNC for a long time and said, “We have to crown this success with economic success.

The government is working with stakeholders to take the necessary measures in this regard. The funding from Turkey has relieved public finances and secured the state's ability to fulfill its obligations.”.

“THE STATE WILL BE ABLE TO PAY THE PRIVATE SECTOR ON TIME...”

Thanking Turkey for its generous contributions to the TRNC Ahmet Savaşan, He pointed out that the funds from Turkey will also be used to help the private sector and that the positive impact of this funding on the private sector will be felt mainly through the fulfillment of the public sector's obligations to the private sector.

Savaşan said, “As we all know, our private sector is intertwined with the state, which is the biggest economic actor. Businesses are in a constant exchange with the state. Thanks to this resource, the private sector will be able to collect its receivables from the state on time and confidence will come to the market. The wheels will start turning again,” he said.

“THE PRIVATE SECTOR NEEDS SPECIAL SUPPORT...”

Stating that the private sector needs much more special programs and support, Savaşan underlined that the government is working together with business people and representatives of economic organizations. Prime Minister Ersin Tatar’Savaşan stated that he received the demands of the business world in his meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister, relevant ministers and heads of organizations and that efforts are being made to prepare the 2nd economic package to meet the needs of the private sector.

Underlining that it is of decisive importance for the sustainability of the country's economy that arrivals from abroad are opened by taking the necessary measures and even providing health assurance to those who will come, as is the case in many countries of the world and in Southern Cyprus Ahmet Savaşan, Savaşan expressed his belief that the government will act by taking into account the demands of the tourism and higher education sector and the needs of the country. Savaşan said, “By taking the necessary measures, it is important to facilitate the TRNC citizens in Turkey and other countries to come to Northern Cyprus to reunite with their families and loved ones as soon as possible.
